If you don't want to be tempted to spend this weeks shopping budget, do not visit this Aladdin's Cave of retro temptation.
This Market is housed in the old venue in Smith St. Collingwood formally known as The Club, or the Jump Club. It's worth the visit in itself, if like me, you spent numerous very late nights there in the 80s and early 90s, seeing bands and getting into mischief.
Luckily I only had 20 mins. to browse, but next time, well, I want to buy some more old buttons, a gorgeous white wrought iron glass top table, a funky red 50's lampshade and other stuff I probably don't need....
Stopped off in High St. Northcote on the way home and in the short time I was last there, 3 or 4 interesting new shops have appeared. Indie designers and their supporters are spoilt for choice in Melbourne. At the yummy High St. cafe, Palomino, I bailed up a girl who was wearing one of my starling necklaces. It was exciting to see her looking so pretty in it, but I'm kind of sorry I interrupted her intimate lunch date.
Ive picked up this postcard in a shop around Melbourne and forgot all about it. thanks for the post...reminded me to check this place out.
