It is babushka-mania at the moment. 'Douglas and Hope' in Melboune has some cute plates. Love your brooches and your blog.

ReplyDeleteI just found your blog via vintage ricrac. What beautiful work you do!!!
ReplyDeleteI too just came across your site via ric-rac via ruthspoon. But seeing your work I now know I've seen your work before, my brother sent me a postcard early last year with your owl on it. It' pinned to my notice board!
ReplyDeleteNow your sweet Bubushkus no way resembled my Russian Grandmother..married 7 times smelt of Borsch!
Love your work..I too could give away some of my stuff, hmmm gives me an idea
cheers
Your babushka doll is lovely! I have seen some of your brooches in Cherry Blossom in Paddington (Brisbane) and your work is even more gorgeous in real life. You are obviously also very generous - thank-you for opening up the competition to Aussies!
ReplyDeleteI have just found your blog, also via ricrac, and I love what you are doing with lino and buttons! Nice photos, too.
ReplyDeletePlease throw my name into the Australian draw for a brooch.
Very interesting and entertaining blog!
Just love your blog too! Thanks for the giveaway and looking forward to seeing more. My fingers are crossed Rachel
ReplyDeleteYours is the first Blog I've seen with Babushkas, other than mine of course LOL! I bought my first Babushka in the G.U.M. Store in Moscow in June 1969 I was then hooked! They now number 219 sets with 973 dolls... that's an awful lot of Babushkas isn't it and that's not counting the fabric ones or the quilts with them on so it looks like I'm being rather greedy joining in your giveaway but you see... I just don't have one made of Lino!!
ReplyDelete*sigh* I love Babushka dolls. Especially the brushwork on the 'real' Russian/E. European ones.
ReplyDelete*sigh*
