Who Likes Buttons?

I know I do. Quite a lot. More than a lot. So much in fact , that I scurried quick smart over to Windsor when a little bird told me there was vintage buttons aplenty at Fat Helens.
And I didn't need to sit and pick out the ones I wanted because THEY WERE ALL GOOD!Last night Lily did some sorting, but still has more to go.So, as there is a serious lack of room in my studio, and I'm in a sharing mood, I'm going to have a
GIVE AWAY.
A lovely bag of lollies....I mean buttons, and some other crafty goodies will be yours (think buckles, trims and other haby goodies) There might even be a Betty Jo buttony brooch included as well.
Just leave a a comment this week telling me how you might use the buttons. If you want to add a link to some pics. of your past buttony projects I'll post some of them for a show and tell.
The random winner will be announced next Sunday 2nd August.

  1. A giveaway of buttons?? Count me in! I guess I have to say that I will do more with them then just looking at them, running them through my fingers and putting them into jars? I will use them for making some vintage button brooches or for gift tags

  12. Another button addict here. Well my daughter would claim some as her own to add to her fairy ring but I would put them towards our rainbow mural. I have slowly been amassing buttons to make a wall mural rainbow all out of buttons.

  17. Ohh, lovely buttons, sorted into colours, making my mouth water. I would eat the buttons if I won them. Or potentially do something more productive like thread them onto some electrical wire to make a button bracelet! But really, they're like lovely M&Ms...

  18. Oh man. What a great photo! And I spy a couple of vintage pyrex ramekins too!

How I would use the buttons? Well, I'd play with them and spread them out on the table and sort them and look at them ... a few hundred times ... and then I would actually use them for a brooch, or a cardigan, or a home made shirt!

  23. What a gorgeous collection. They look divine in those ramekins. Not sure what I'd do with them. I'm really wanting to do some soft sculpture at the moment with felt and found objects, so perhaps they'd be added to that.

  29. I know a boy who is cute as a button... He's away at the moment and I'm missing him muchly. I've always said I'd sew him a softie, because we all know boys secretly love toys as much as girls do, and this is my project in his absence. His name is going to be herman and he's a robot. I'm going to meticulously cover him in buttons like a little sheild of armour, using big special ones for his eyes and his little robot knobs and functions. He's going to be the most loved robot ever, and outlast us all! :) x
