Beach Rainbows

Eww, I have never seen Elwood Beach so rubbishy as it was on the weekend. More plastic than sand in parts. I picked up so much that these pictures are only a small portion.

There is a brand of cola that needs to have it's own red lid display as there were so many of them.

All I can say is poor marine animals. Our kids don't have much to look forward to in this disposable world if this is what we leave behind today.

  1. oh my god that's disgusting and oh my god what you have done is strangely beautiful.
i particularly find the bic lighters most disturbing as i can only imagine the amount of cigg butts in the sand too, and how many billions of years would it take for those mo fo's to decompose?!!

  2. All very pretty but unfortunately the seagulls think so, too. Tasty. NOT! More dead birds and sea life from completely unthinking waste. Disgraceful.

  3. Thankfully I've never spent any time at city beaches, only down the surf coast.
I wish people would realise that all their litter ends up in the ocean!

  4. My god Liz, that is absolutely unbelievable. I am in shock. And the biggest irony I guess is that you have managed so deftly to make it beautiful. Hopefully that ability to turn something bad into something good is what our kids will inherit!
