When I was a little girl this is what scared me ( not butterflies, but the creepy crawlie variety). I wouldn't go outside for weeks.........
I'm better now except for this boring old cliche...."spider phobia"(not even fond of writing the word) although I am improving, so as not to transfer my fear over to the kids. When Lily found this book at the op-shop the other day, I gingerly flipped through it in case there was a picture like this......
I will see how long I can keep this picture here, as I can't look at it too closely. (It was tiny when I scanned it but now that it is enlarged it's a bit more disturbing)
oooh yes, I am not a fan of the latter either. One crawled on my daughters arm the other day and her just recounting the story freaked me out !
ReplyDeleteThey are my number one scary thing too but I couldn't bear to put a picture of one on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI don't have the fear for spiders at all.I must say I am not too keen on turtles!mmmm I could have put them on my blog, but I choose something else that scares me.
ReplyDeletexoxo
i am also not a fan of the creepy crawlies..
ReplyDeleteI remember having that book at home as a kid, and I don't like those things either!!
ReplyDeleteSome of the illustrations in the old books are just as scary as the real thing!!
ReplyDeleteI was always like you too, and 'nature' books in particular, were always a bit risky... but I am cured now. REALLY. Apart from cockroaches - they still give me the shudders!
ReplyDeleteCome visit my blog. I may have some hope for you. Be brave... any pics are well off the opening page.
After living in Sydney for six years, and with the "plague" we are having in Melbourne I am a cockroach tyrant and squash them in tissues...even the MASSIVE ones. I'm fine because they don't have eight legs.
ReplyDeleteanything in the creepy-crawly family is off limits for so many people. I am pretty much an ignore them and they go away kind of girl. thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteSpiders fascinate me. I kill redbacks, funnel webs and white tips, but all other spiders are guaranteed safety, here. Especially the beautiful orb weavers. If any spiders come inside, I relocate them.
