Market Memories

It was a perfect morning to visit the Camberwell Market today. Usually I only try and buy things I will use in my products....buttons , buckles, doilies, playing cards.
Goodies for <span class=
But today I saw these little tin plates from a dollies tea set I used to own and a wave of childhood memory washed over me.

Same with this book about two dolls in the Aussie bush.

Have you ever found something from your childhood that you had forgotten about?
Chrissy and Bella
Last week I found this Chrissy Doll in an op shop. All the memories of the Christmas morning when I got my original Chrissy (with her lustrous growing hair) came flooding back.
Alas Bella the cat is not terribly amused. You can see a lot of choice flea market goodies on Sophie's blog today. Go and have a visit.

  1. great finds, love the little plates. Yes, every time I see a Pookie book, or a Bobsey Twins book, I remember great Christmas mornings at home.

  2. Ah, the little platesare delightful! It is one of the greatest pleasures of opshopping to find something with long-forgotten happy memories attached. I found a fisher price dog that wags its tail furiously as it's pulled along by my daughter, just as I used to do myself, it looks just ile the dog my family owned when I was small and it makes the memories flow x

  7. It is so much fun to find something that evokes the sweet memories of childhood. I imagine Bella will get over her initial dislike of Chrissy.

The little doll plates are so adorable, too.

  8. I blame my envy for the neighbour's Chrissy doll for my present day propensity for hairpieces - short hair-long hair-short hair-long hair etc. I also had that Koala book!

  9. Yay! Thanks for sharing your memories. Funnily enough Chrissy was the ONLY doll I had as a girl. So that is why she holds a special place in my heart!
I am now on a mission to find the rest of the teaset...so keep your eyes open for me
    xx
